Christopher Kane revisited his iconic Spring/Summer 2007 collection in collaboration with Self Portrait, marking the first installment of the brand's Residency program. Known for his bold, neon, crystal-adorned designs dubbed “Marie Antoinette at the discotheque” by Suzy Menkes, the Scottish designer modernized his legendary debut with a softer palette of pastel hues and updated silhouettes.

The collaboration follows the closure of Kane's eponymous label post-pandemic and was inspired by nostalgia and the enduring relevance of his original work. Kane described the creative process as transformative, helping him embrace his archives while maintaining his thirst for innovation.

The collection, aimed at a new generation of social butterflies, debuted with a lively launch party evoking the chaotic creativity of Andy Warhol’s Factory. The event, held in a candlelit North London warehouse, became a career highlight for Kane. The line has been a commercial success, resonating with longtime fans and newcomers alike. Kane is open to future collaborations, citing his positive experience with Self Portrait.
