Fashion is in flux as major brands see frequent shifts in creative directors. This year alone, notable changes include Sarah Burton moving to Givenchy, Haider Ackermann taking over at Tom Ford, Kim Jones leaving Fendi, Alessandro Michele joining Valentino, and Hedi Slimane departing Celine. However, Chanel has yet to fill its top role after Virginie Viard’s departure in June, following her 30-year tenure with the brand. Marc Jacobs recently expressed his desire to take on the position, publicly stating, “There’s only one job I want.” He even asked friend Sofia Coppola, who collaborates with Chanel, to support his bid, although she noted she has no influence over the decision. While Jacobs is highly qualified, it remains to be seen if Chanel will consider him for the coveted role.
