Spacewalk style: Prada reveals its groundbreaking astronaut suits
Photo: Prada and Axiom Space
Prada, collaborating with Axiom Space, has designed NASA’s new spacesuits for the Artemis 3 mission, scheduled for September 2026. The mission will mark the first return of humans to the moon since 1972, with the first female astronaut and the first person of color stepping onto the lunar surface. While the suits, featuring red stripes inspired by Prada's Linea Rossa line, won’t bear Prada logos, they are engineered for extreme lunar conditions, enabling astronauts to survive in the moon's shadowed regions for two hours and in other areas for up to eight hours. NASA’s Artemis project aims to establish a permanent lunar base for research and exploration.
