Is Lanvin Poised to Become the Next Balenciaga?

Lanvin, the oldest French couture house still in operation, has faced challenges since Alber Elbaz's departure in 2015, going through several creative directors. After a year-long search, Lanvin has appointed Peter Copping as its new artistic director.

Copping, praised for his outstanding talent, has a notable career, including ten years at Louis Vuitton with Marc Jacobs, leading Nina Ricci, and being selected by Oscar de la Renta to succeed him. Recently, Copping worked at Balenciaga, contributing to the couture revival and creating VIP projects like Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala gown.

Expectations are high for him to bring similar success to Lanvin, though his debut collection's release date is yet to be announced.
