Nike is undergoing a significant corporate shake-up as they work to overcome recent challenges. Their Q1 2025 financial report revealed a 10% drop in revenue compared to the previous year. Despite this, Nike remains a favorite among Gen Z, holding strong cultural influence. A key leadership change sees Elliott Hill, a longtime Nike veteran, stepping in as the new CEO, replacing John Donahoe.

Additionally, Tom Peddie, another veteran who retired in 2020 and rejoined in July as VP of marketplace partners, has been promoted to General Manager of North America. Nike’s President of Geographies and Marketplace, Craig Williams, praised Peddie’s extensive experience and strong retailer relationships, calling him ideal to lead North America's next phase of growth. Peddie will take over from Scott Uzzell, who previously served as president and CEO of Converse before transitioning to this role. Uzzell succeeded Sarah Mensah, now the first female president of Jordan Brand.

Peddie officially steps into his new role on October 21.
