BAPE is Looking Fresh Again

Photo : BAPE

BAPE has outpaced Supreme, Stüssy, and Palace by being the first major streetwear brand to release its Fall/Winter 2024 lookbook. Despite NIGO's departure in 2013, BAPE remains a streetwear staple, even managing to continue releasing BAPE STA sneakers after settling a lawsuit with Nike over their resemblance to the Air Force 1.

BAPE is undergoing a reinvention, moving beyond its famous Ape Head T-shirts and BAPE STA sneakers. Since its 30th anniversary in 2023, BAPE has been presenting full seasonal collections with live runway shows in Shanghai, New York City, and Tokyo, distinguishing itself without relying on high-profile collaborators. The Fall/Winter 2024 collection is divided into "Subculture Aesthetic" and "Campus Life" themes, offering fresh, edgy takes on streetwear and prep styles. Highlights include a black leather bag made of Baby Milos, a Cowichan knit varsity jacket, double knee pants, and quilted puffers featuring the 1ST CAMO pattern.

Despite doubts about BAPE's future after NIGO's exit, the brand is proving it can stay relevant and innovative in the streetwear scene.
