Louis Vuitton is ringing in the New Year with a bold nod to Y2K nostalgia, unveiling a fresh take on its iconic collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami.
The Louis Vuitton x Murakami collection, fronted by Zendaya, will debut in two phases, launching in January and March. Featuring over 200 items, the collection includes everything from signature City Bags to playful accessories like silk scarves, sunglasses, sneakers, perfume bottles, and even a skateboard. A standout element is the reimagined Monogram Multicolore, showcasing the classic “LV” and floral motifs in 33 vibrant colors on timeless bags like the Keepall and Coussin.
To celebrate the release, Louis Vuitton shared an official campaign video featuring Murakami himself. In the clip, the artist sends a handwritten note from Japan to Zendaya in New York, setting the stage for the highly anticipated launch.
The global rollout includes immersive pop-up activations in seven major cities, including London, New York, and Seoul. These events will offer unique experiences such as themed cafés, cinemas, and vending machines. Fans of the collection can also snag fun prizes like stickers, Tamagotchis, and trading cards with their purchases.
The Louis Vuitton x Murakami collection will officially launch on January 1 via the Louis Vuitton website, with the second drop scheduled for March. Stay tuned for more updates!
